Have you ever taken a picture that looked flat and had no
depth of field? You wanted the mountains, for example, to
look as if they went on forever. Or have you taken a picture
of a group of buildings unknowingly tilting the camera to
capture their tops. The newest of Andromeda's filters, The
Perspective filter will allow you to change the perspective
of these pictures- to add interest to one and correct the
other.
Some of the features of this filter are listed below. The
filter can:
- act as a "virtual" camera in 3D space
- view and manipulate your image through various perspective
lenses
- introduce consistent perspective in multiple images and
strings of text
- make 2D-image orientation more dramatic
It comes with many presets in a preset library with visual
displays (thumbnails) as well as allows the user a space for
comments on how the filter was used, for what purpose, etc.
The Windows requirements are minimal. All that is necessary
is Adobe Photoshop 4 or higher or a another host program that
accepts Photoshop Plug-ins. Also, a pentium processor and
a 4x CD drive.
The manual comes in pdf form on the CD as do example, etc.

The manual explains about the filter, describes
the different settings and walks the reader through various
examples of how the filter works. The manual is written clearly
and uses illustrations very well. The filter is designed for
easy use due to its excellent interface as well as good manual.
Not only is the manual easy to understand, but
the interface of the filter is arranged so that the user knows
easily how to arrive at each effect.

I decided to see how I could gain a different perspective
of a picture of a bird that I had placed on a sky background.
See the illustration below.

This filter can also be used very effectively with letters.
I, also, used this filter to straighten an image that was
badly distorted when the photograph was taken with the camera
pointed toward the sky. The following illustrations demonstrate
two methods for accomplishing this. I added this demonstration
to show the many facets in this filter program.. I found that
with one step in the Perspective filter program, I
could accomplish what it took 2 steps to do in Photoshop.
The manual offers examples of how to simplify one's work.

My last examples that I will show are two changes to the
original water picture. Initially this review did not have
so many illustrations, but I began having fun seeing the changes
that I could make.

I found this filter easy to use and useful as well as fun.
Many interesting effects can be accomplished with this filter.
It's cost is only $44.00. I had to look twice at the price
because I thought I was mistaken. It appeared to be too low.
For this price, you are getting at least triple what it's
worth.
All of Andromeda's filters are reasonably priced. I have
used them for years. As my operating systems have advanced,
I have been able to keep my favorite filters since Andromeda
upgrades them when necessary for again a very reasonable amount.
It is very nice to know that those that I really like to use
will never be outdated. Andromeda's URL is: http://www.andromeda.com
